An American professor was found dead inside his apartment yesterday in Al Ahsa where he lectured at King Faisal University.

The man was missing for two days before his colleague reported his absence to police. Authorities found the body upon the report.

Eastern Province Police Maj. Musaed Al-Harthi said the police started investigation after it received the report about the deceased being missing.

The police found the apartment’s door closed and contacted the Civil Defense to open it. The man, in his 50s, was found in the bedroom. There was was no sign of foul play in the apartment.

Preliminary evidence indicates the death was of natural causes and investigations under way, he said.
