JAZAN: The Directorate for Health Affairs in Jazan started with the clean up following the fire at Jazan Hospital last Thursday by drafting an alternative emergency plan to provide health services for the city's inhabitants.

Sources confirmed that a team made up of 10 engineers from Aramco arrived in the area and started to examine damages to evaluate the situation. Sources said that Aramco will be assigned with the rehabilitation of the hospital.

Abu Arhish Governorate monitored the arrival of 47 nursing staff and 20 doctors who have been reassigned to various hospitals around the region. Deputy director Mohammad Al-Aqdi said the staff has been reassigned by Jazan Health.

The general supervisor of Prince Mohammad Hospital, Dr. Mohammad bin Naser, said the hospital has prepared 70 beds to treat patients in Jazan and affiliated villages.

A number of nurses from Jazan Hospital complained that their transfers to hospitals are far away from their homes, saying they haven’t recovered from the shock of the fire, and now they have been surprised because of their random distribution to other hospitals which are far from their homes.

The National Human Rights Commission said in a statement that it's important to hold people accountable, and there are many shortages in health services which have been monitored in the past.

It hoped that officials at the Ministry of Health will avoid problems and guarantee that citizens will get their rights. The commission appreciated the minister of health’s bearing the responsibility for the fire at Jazan Hospital, and confirmed the importance of quick treatment without any obstacles, in addition to identifying people with weak performances, in addition to reviewing safety and security.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission dispatched a team of specialists to investigate the cause of the fire. The commission has said it is not officially authorized to investigate the incident, but that Prince Mohammad bin Naser has issued directives to investigate the incident from all angles and file a detailed report with the reasons and causes, in addition to making the necessary recommendations for preventing a recurrence of these tragic accidents.
