Bazm-e-Urdu Riyadh Toastmaster’s Club celebrated their 25th session here attended by many members of the local community and cultural organizations.

Mohammed Abdur Rahman Saleem, a founder and former president, chaired the meeting. Mohammad Zubair began the program by reciting from the holy Qur’an. Mohammad Abdul Rasool, the sergeant-at-arms started the session.

Saleem welcomed the audience and presented flower bouquets to the chief guest D.T.M. Joel from Jeddah. During his speech, he presented a slide show on the many roles of a toastmaster, with a discussion shortly afterwards.

He also welcomed T.M. Sanjay, Mahat Area 1 governor; T.M. Yaseen Ali, Area 22 governor; and T.M. Syed Waqas, immediate Area B governor from Riyadh.

Saleem also introduced the theme of the day, which focused on personality development. He was also Word Master of the day, introducing the various forms and origin of the word Sukhn.

The meeting was composed of three sessions — prepared speeches, table topics, and evaluation. Prepared speeches were delivered to cover the “Competent Communicator Manual” from Toastmaster International. T.M. Syed Viquaruddin delivered the first prepared speech on “Being Human,” his fourth project.

Mir Ahmed Ali delivered the second speech, his ninth project, on Maqdoom Mohiuddin. The third speech was delivered by Taqiuddin Mir Fazal on education, which completed his Competent Communicator qualification. He introduced Sayeed Mohiuddin as AH Counter, Mohd Azeemuddin Zubair as Vote Counter, T.M. Sayeed Nawaz as Grammarian, Syed Abdul Hamid as Timer and Mohammed Abdul Hameed as Listening Master.

A slide show on effective communication was presented by Abdul Quddus Javeed.

The table topics session was conducted by Khaja Wasif. Omar Khan delivered a speech on an auto rickshaw ride; and Mohammed Quaiser, president of the THH, delivered a speech on moist, fertile soil. Abdul Rahim Khan spoke about positive thinking, Misbahul Arifeen spoke on the significance of a person’s eyes and Tabrez Ahmed spoke on seeing a movie with the family. The speeches impressed the audience.

The third session was on general evaluation with Sayeed Nawaz taking up the role. Syed Ateeq presented an evaluation of Omar Khan and Nazim Hussain evaluated the speech of Mir Ahmed Ali. Mohammed Mubeen evaluated Taqiuddin Mir Fazal.
