RIYADH: The Border Guard Institute, Riyadh, honored 254 cadets and officers during a graduation ceremony on Thursday.

The even was held under the auspices of the Maj. Gen. Abdullah bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, director, General Directorate for Training.

Speaking on the occasion, Col. Abdullah bin Fadl Al-Shihri, commander of the Border Guard Institute, lauded the students on the occasion. “The training at the institute was in accordance with systematic plans and vision of the future as well as strategic partnership with scientific experts in various areas.”

Al-Shihri urged the students to apply what they had learned on the ground and be dedicated to their work and give justice to the time, money and efforts spent on them to finish their course.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Col. Fawaz Al-Mutairi envisioned a good future for the graduates, expressing hope that whatever they learned from the institute will help them in their career as well as in their future.

Earlier on Tuesday, 30 officers also finished applied seminars in leadership and planning at the institute. The seminars were held in partnership with the Riyadh Institute of Public Administration.

The institute’s public affairs head, Maj. Essam bin Saleh Al-Shibl, said the officers’ training covered eight specialized courses that included light weapons, archery skills, pistol shooting, car air-conditioning, technical cooling, and a program on rehabilitation, in partnership with the German federal police.
