JEDDAH: The cabinet, on Monday, condemned yesterday’s deadly attack that killed 70 people, mostly women and children, in the Pakistani city of Lahore.

The cabinet meeting, which was chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, also condemned the terror attacks in Brussels and in Babel Province, south of Baghdad.

The cabinet welcomed the meeting of the Chiefs of Staffs

of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition and praised the declaration after the meeting which asserted the importance of the collective work as well as the comprehensive strategic perspective to counter terrorism and extremism.

The king briefed the cabinet of his talks with the South African president and praised the close relations between the two countries and their peoples in various fields. King Salman also talked about the outcome of his meeting with the speaker of Georgia’s parliament.

The Cabinet renewed Saudi Arabia’s call on the United Nations Security Council to establish an international protection system for the Palestinian state, including Al-Quds, expressing the Kingdom’s condemnation of Israeli authorities for continuing construction of Jewish settlements in the occupied Arab territories and its regret about the resignation of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories due to the lack of cooperation by the Israeli occupation authorities.

The Cabinet confirmed the care given by the king to scholars and scientists after he patronized the King Faisal International Prize, commending the recommendations of the Fourth Saudi-United States Business Opportunities Forum organized by the Ministry of Commerce under the patronage of the king.
