JEDDAH: The Cabinet on Monday appreciated a speech by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman emphasizing the government’s efforts to protect human rights.

“Saudi laws and regulations stress the independence of judiciary to ensure justice and the right to litigation for all citizens and residents in the country,” the king said.

The Cabinet thanked the king for opening a number of medical projects at King Abdulaziz Medical City. “This reflects the king’s attention toward the health of citizens and support for health projects as well as his commitment to boosting the Kingdom’s development in all sectors,” it added.

On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Cabinet underscored the GCC’s integrated achievements. “The comprehensive cooperation among the GCC states have enabled them to strengthen security and stability in the region as well as in the world,” it said.

The Cabinet praised the Riyadh Declaration and the final communiqué issued after the conference for saving Yemen. In a message to the conference, King Salman vowed the Kingdom’s continuous support to the Yemeni people.

The Cabinet welcomed the results of the 46th session of the Arab Information Ministers Council, notably, the transitory plan to implement the Arab joint media strategy to combat terrorism. The meeting in Cairo emphasized the media’s role in promoting the values of tolerance and combating extremism.

The Cabinet authorized Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior to discuss with the Djiboutian side a draft security cooperation agreement between the two countries.
