RIYADH: The sweeping changes introduced to the structure of government ministries are aimed at improving the economy and standard of living for all citizens, said Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman here Monday.

Chairing the Cabinet session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, the king said that the country has been blessed with stability and security, and that the changes announced on Saturday would ensure this continues into the future, according to a statement issued by Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Toraifi to SPA.

King Salman said that sustainable economic growth has been at the heart of government domestic policy since the country was founded by the late King Abdulaziz. This could only be achieved with the proper functioning of state institutions, he said.

Welcoming the new ministers, he urged them and all government officials to carry out the tasks assigned to them, and thanked previous office bearers for their contribution to the country’s development, said Al-Toraifi.
