RIYADH: The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday said a citizen who killed his wife in Riyadh was executed this week.
Hassan bin Jabran bin Ibrahim Falooq murdered his wife, Qanaa bint Mohammed bin Abdullah Sahli, also a Saudi national, by stabbing her with a knife one time in her back inside their home.
Authorities arrested the criminal, investigated and brought charges against him, and then referred him to the Criminal Court, which convicted the defendant for murder, for stabbing his wife in her back in their bedroom, apparently for no reason.
The death sentence was upheld by the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, and a royal decree enforced the death sentence.
The execution took place Wednesday at Riyadh's Justice Square.
Also Wednesday, the ministry said two Pakistani nationals were executed in Qatif for smuggling large amounts of heroin inside their bodies.
Basharat Ali Farzand and Abdulaziz Al-Rahman Zaroir Khan were earlier arrested for smuggling heroin in their guts.
The punishments reaffirm the commitment of the government to ensuring justice for all.
