Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, is scheduled to arrive in the Maldives on Monday as part of his current Asian tour, which has already taken him to Pakistan and Japan.

He will arrive in India on Feb. 26 on a three-day landmark visit.

Maldivian Ambassador to Riyadh Adam Hassan highlighted the importance of the crown prince’s visit, saying it would strengthen bilateral ties.

His discussions in Male will focus on potential investments and partnerships in energy, tourism, transport, and Islamic affairs.

The crown prince’s trip to the Maldives comes in response to the invitation extended by Maldivian President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom, Hassan said.
