RIYADH: The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) announced its plan to enhance the level of medical services provided to its beneficiaries.

“The HCIC has issued a decree that requires all its accredited health care providers to comply with all requirements,” said CCHI Secretary-General Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Hussein.

He said that the decree raises the safety level for patients and reduces medical errors committed by the accredited health care providers’ medical staff.

This is carried out by ensuring that accredited health care providers develop standards and requirements as provided under the agreement with the CCHI.

For this purpose, the council has targeted more than 347 medical facilities and specialized medical center hospitals all over the Kingdom.

Al-Hussein added that the CCHI secretariat will inform all accredited health care providers of the need to obtain a certificate on adoption of quality medical facilities in providing health care to accredited members.

“This is in accordance with the decision adopted by the council during a meeting recently,” the CCHI secretary-general said.

He added that the certification of quality health care facilities will provide many benefits for the insured including efficient service from the medical staff as a result of an improved compensation package.

“This will also result in increased trust and confidence among the insured or beneficiaries in the medical services provided to them,” Al-Hussein said.
