RIYADH: Saudi education specialists for School Performance Evaluation have undergone a special test in various cities in order to obtain their professional license that allows them to perform their duties.

Based on the Public Education Evaluation Commission’s (PEEC) terms, the profession needs these credentials to ensure the quality of their performance as part of the country’s ambitious move for strong education development.

As many as 100 of specialists (both male and female) and school sociologists from Riyadh, Jeddah and Abha have participated in the test under the direct supervision of the PEEC team, said Dr. Saleh Al-Shamrani, the PEEC deputy governor.

According to him, the test represents the final stage in the professional development project for a specialist’s school performance, which consists of six stages.

He stressed the importance of such a test for professional development projects and specialist school performance evaluations.

The test seeks to rehabilitate the field in accordance with the PEEC’s specific and scientific standards. It is also working to develop their capabilities, skills, knowledge and attitudes associated with the philosophy of school performance.

“The issuance of such licenses is one of PEEC’s key areas of responsibilities, where the body monitors those credentials and renews them periodically according to its guidelines and terms,” the official added.

To sit the test, a person must be of Saudi origin and must not be a government employee and should have obtained at least a bachelor level degree from a recognized university. Priority is given to those who carry a masters or Ph.D. degree from a recognized university.
