JEDDAH: While citizens patiently waited for the announcement on the upcoming goals and programs of the General Authority for Entertainment, the Jeddah Municipal Council went one step ahead to recommend the development and implementation of an entertainment program for the cleaners in the city and throughout the region, in coordination with the Jeddah Secretariat.

The president of the Municipal Council, Abdulmajeed Albatati, was quoted as saying by a local publication: "The Municipal Council came up with two recommendations during its meeting on Wednesday; one involved preparing an entertainment program for the cleaners in Jeddah in coordination with the Secretariat and submitting it to the competent authorities for approval. The council also recommended banning the use of plastic bags and replacing them with paper ones. This second recommendation comes on the background of the discussion of the offer submitted by the environment and sub-municipalities committee with the aim of maintaining a healthy and clean environment.”

During the meeting, the council was briefed on the budget of the Secretariat submitted by the administrative and financial committee.
