Forger of building plans jailed

The Jeddah administrative court fined and jailed on Wednesday a Yemeni worker for forging building plans.
He used a counterfeit residence permit to work at a department that issues building plans for the Mayoralty of Jeddah.
He was convicted of forging official documents that he claimed were issued by the mayoralty. He was also convicted of forging identity cards for a number of citizens and forging a Saudi driver’s license.
The court sentenced him to three years in jail and a fine of SR 30,000. The court exonerated the second person, a real estate broker, who said that the expatriate worker defrauded him by using a counterfeit sketch.
This story goes back six years when the expatriate worker first started looking for people to defraud. He met some people at the office of the Jeddah notary public and claimed that he was well-connected and could facilitate their work.
He admitted that he worked for some time previously at the Mayoralty of Jeddah, at a division issuing plans for buildings. He was later fired from the division.
