Nearly 1,000 Pakistanis received free treatment at the 7th Pakistan Medical Camp held at the embassy premises on Friday.

Young men and women volunteers from across Riyadh were present, including from Pakistan International School English Section, Pakistan Cultural Group, Indus Group and Institution of Pakistan. The event was organized by the Pakistani Doctors Group in cooperation with its mission in Riyadh.

The doctors present included those with specializations in cardiology, neurology and neurosurgery, nephrology, urology, plastic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry and psychology, rheumatology, ear, nose and throat, ophthalmology, pediatrics, endocrinology, radiology, hematology, oncology, gastroenterology, general surgery, family medicine and dentistry.

The doctors checked glucose levels and for hypertension. There were also ultrasound, echocardiograms and various other clinical tests conducted. Free prescription drugs were handed out. The patients included men, women and children from the Pakistani community in Riyadh and surrounding areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Pakistan Manzoor Ul Haq said the doctors were performing an important service for poor fellow nationals. “Pakistani doctors in the Kingdom are assets of our country,” he said.

Nighat Manzoor, wife of the ambassador, also praised the doctors for their commitment.
