My wife and I are very keen travelers who look forward to exploring new places. We do not have one favorite location, but enjoy many destinations.

* What is your dream country where you would like to be posted after leaving Saudi Arabia.

Norway.

* Which country’s people have you found most friendly?

We have been very impressed with the friendly reception in Saudi Arabia.

* How do you react or deal with anger?

I try to hold my breath and count to ten. I am normally a very calm person.

* What is your source of strength during tough times?

My wife, Ingeborg.

* What was your first impression about the Kingdom?

Hot, quiet, sunny and friendly.

* Which Saudi city fascinated you the most?

Abha.

* Your favorite dish?

Umm Ali. I have a sweet tooth.

* The thing about Kingdom that you will always remember?

The friendliness of its people and the diversity of its nature.

Twitter.

* If you were not a diplomat, what be your profession?

Journalist.

* Is hiding the truth acceptable in diplomacy?

A diplomat should always try to defend and explain his country’s interests in a way that is understood and accepted by our host country, our friends and partners. The truth will usually come out.

* How do you keep yourself fit?

That is a constant challenge for a diplomat. I try to walk regularly.

* Your favorite restaurant?

The Globe, because that was the first restaurant I visited here and the food was excellent.

* You are a fan of which football club?

For soccer, Manchester United. For American football, Minnesota Vikings.

* Who is your favorite actor/actress?

Meryl Streep and Robert de Niro.

* What is your favorite weekend activity?

Reading and traveling.
