JEDDAH: Yemen’s foreign minister compared on Sunday Iran-backed Houthi militias and their allies to ghosts, claiming that they spent most of their time in their hotel during the Geneva peace talks on Yemen.

Speaking to Asharq Al-Awsat, Riyad Yassin said that Houthis did not try to cooperate during the talks.

Yassin said the talks were one-sided and that the Houthi inflexibility prevented the implementation of UN Resolution 2216. He said Yemen’s government has advised the UN envoy not to talk to Houthis outside Yemen as they are deemed armed militias.
