MADINAH: Egyptian pilgrim Abdulaal Sabri Al-Kamli, who is on his first visit to the Kingdom for Umrah, was amazed by the spiritual and historic importance of Madinah, which is attracting a bigger than usual number of pilgrims due to the summer vacation.

The Ministry of Haj has revealed that 4,908,742 pilgrims arrived in the Kingdom as of last week.

After completing Umrah in the Grand Mosque in Makkah recently, Abdulaal arrived in Madinah to pray in the Prophet’s Mosque and visit the Islamic sites and landmarks. He told Arab News that he was thrilled to see the place where the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions worked hard and fought for the cause of Islam.

“Madinah is a beautiful city and Muslims feel complete comfort and peace here,” he said. “You feel like you are walking in the place where the Prophet (peace be upon him) walked.”

Abdulaal said he visited many historical and Islamic sites in the city such as the location where the battles of Uhud and Al-Khandaq were fought and historic historic mosques like Quba, Al-Jomaa, Al-Mosataraah.

Abdulaal said he traveled to Saudi Arabia from Kuwait by land, which cost him about 100 Kuwaiti dinaars.

Abdulaal praised the role of the Kingdom and its efforts in providing comprehensive services to pilgrims and expressed his admiration toward the ongoing large-scale projects in the Two Holy Mosques.
