JEDDAH: Through their awareness of the particular challenges facing people with special needs and orphans in the community, a number of local charities are planning to organize a special iftar event under the banner “Ramadan brings us closer”.
Fahd Samhan, chairman of the organizing committee of the event, said that the aim of this initiative is to put smiles on the faces of orphans and people with special needs, bringing them closer to the community and spreading awareness throughout society that it is everyone's social reasonability to look after them.
He said that several officials, businessmen, artists, and journalists will participate in the Iftar and will break their fast with the orphans at a local restaurant in Jeddah.
