JEDDAH: Indonesian Consul General here M. Hery Saripudin on Wednesday announced awards for three Saudi businessmen, on behalf of his country’s trade ministry, in recognition of their role in boosting trade between the two countries.
The diplomat bestowed on Mohammed Bawazir, owner of Mohammed Bawazir Trading (MBT), the Prima Duta Award for promoting trade between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.
“This award is given to Mr. Mohammed Bawazir in recognition of his efforts and hard work to increase the volume of trade between our two countries, as a token of acknowledgement and appreciation for consistently improving trade between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia,” he said.
Bawazir thanked the Indonesian government and the Ministry of Trade for the honor, and said that the commercial section at the Indonesian Consulate provided all the facilities needed to carry out business.
He said relations between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, two countries that share many similar traditions, is historical, and added: “I believe Indonesia is a land of opportunities. If we go hand in hand, we can improve our relationship and can invest in trade between the two countries.”
Saripudin also gave the Duta Niaga award to Bashir Rajab, general manager of Hadeel Factory, and Mohammed Bawaked, general manager of Al GAMAH for food, for their long business association with Indonesia, saying that they act as trade ambassadors for their country and exert efforts to promote business and trade between the two countries.
The Duta Niaga award is given as a token of appreciation and acknowledgement by Indonesia to local companies for their continued support for trade with Indonesia.
