Prince Ahmad bin Fahad bin Salman, chairman of the Charity Committee for Orphans’ Care (INSAN), graced the 9th annual ceremony to honor talented young orphans in the field of educational care at a local hotel in Riyadh on Thursday.

On the occasion, Prince Ahmad stressed the importance of caring for orphans.

He said that citizens and residents should work together under the guidelines of Islam to care for orphans.

He added: “INSAN provided care to more than 3000 male and female orphans in 2013 through its five branches in Riyadh and eight other branches around the Kingdom.”

INSAN honored 20 brilliant students who have achieved 98 percent marks in final results. It also honored sponsors, including Faisal bin Musaid, Sheikh Khalid bin Ibrahim, the Al-Anoud Charity Foundation and Arabian Oud.

Prince Ahmad said: “More than 550 students, including boys and girls, also received their degrees in various grades.

The award aims to encourage the students to improve their efforts and experience in the field of scientific excellence.”

INSAN aims to provide financial, educational and social support to orphans. Its educational programs include enrolling orphans in private or public schools and sending school dropouts to professional institutes. The charitable society also assists more than 200 students to go abroad as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Scholarship Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education. The charitable organization is keen to enhance the program of educational care based on the importance of education in order to build a road for the future of their children and their self-reliance.

INSAN was established some 14 years ago in Riyadh as a charitable committee to provide care to orphans in the community.
