DAMMAM: The Jamia Millia Alumni Association Dammam Chapter (JMIAADC) now has a dedicated website. It can be accessed at www.jmiaaksa.com.

The announcement was made at the general body meeting called by chapter’s cabinet at a family camp in Jubail. The meeting was the first after the formation of the cabinet. More than 100 alumni participated in the event. The core committee members presented souvenirs to the members of the association. The program began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

Welcome speech was delivered by Haroon Yunus, vice president of JMIAADC. Tashkeen Akbar, general secretary of JMIAADC, presented the association’s progress report and reviewed the activities, including its scholarship program, and released its calendar.

Waquarul Haq Safvi, JMIAADC president, exhorted the members to promote the values of Jamia Millia Islamia and spread the teachings of the historic India university’s founders. He stressed the importance of education and urged them to help in educating weaker sections of the community and society.

He urged the members to join JMIAADC’s Facebook page and Google group for networking and regular interaction.

Safvi, who formally launched the JMIAADC website, appreciated the efforts of Yasir Kidwai, coordinator of the website developing team. Tanveer Alam, joint secretary JMIAADC, presented the vote of thanks.
