Yousuf Al-Dhaheri, general manager of King Fahd International Airport in Dammam (KFIA), said that 12 locations were dedicated to productive families with the aim to promoting their products to passengers and visitors to the airport.

The booths are designed to mimic the traditional pattern of the shops in the Eastern Province and a space is assigned to serve as storage to keep the goods and products. The families have also been assigned two buses to transport them to and from the airport daily.

Al-Dhaheri said: “Social partnership is a duty understood by the airport management which is helping to extend bridges of cooperation among all segments of society.”

“Dammam’s airport established many activities and programs that were begun at the beginning of Ramadan, which included decorating the airport with a number of aesthetic designs in a spirit befitting the holy month of Ramadan such as placing the largest lantern at the airport, the cannon of Ramadan, distributing iftar meals to passengers at the airport by the Eastern Province’s volunteering team and many other events,” he added.

Al-Dhaheri also said that the airport intends to keep up the activities and programs throughout the year through a plan that will be announced soon.
