King Fahd International Airport will soon have flights to Manila and Kolkata.

Yossef Al-Dhahri, the general director of the airport, said that Cebu Pacific Air from the Philippines would start flying on July 16 three times a week to and from Dammam.

Al-Dhahri said that Jet Airways from India would begin operating a new route to Kolkata soon.

“The heavy demand for Asian trips encouraged Indian and Philippine airlines to increase their flights from King Fahd International Airport,” he

said.

Jet Airways already has five flights a week from KFIA to several Indian cities.

Al-Dhahri said that the airport provides airlines and passengers with all the services they can expect at other major facilities in the Kingdom.

“King Fahd International Airport has put in a lot of effort to develop services. It also has mechanisms in place to measure the level of service quality.”

He said work has started on constructing the airport’s five-star hotel and a gas station. There are already coffee shops, fast food restaurants, children's playgrounds and pharmacies at the airport, he said.
