RIYADH: King Salman has ordered that a set of Egyptian conjoined twins be transferred to Riyadh-based King Abdulaziz Medical City for treatment.

“King Salman ordered that Egyptian conjoined twins (Mina and Mai), daughters of Islam Saqr Ramadan Hassan from Egypt, undergo necessary medical tests to assess the possibility of their separation,” General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Abdullah Al-Rabeeah said.

“This is a kind and noble gesture of the king toward needy people in the Kingdom, Arab, Islamic and friendly countries,” Al-Rabeeah added.

The twins are joined at the head and share some membranes around the brain and veins.
