MADINAH: Canadian pilgrim Nafeth Al-Soufi was all praise for Saudi Arabia’s care and attention to large numbers of pilgrims, making Haj easy for everyone.

“The Kingdom is devoted to serving the pilgrims. I’ve been coming for Haj for the last 18 years, and have witnessed the development at the holy sites and services provided to the guests,” he told Arab News.

The Canadian pilgrim visited Madinah and prayed in the Prophet’s Mosque.

“I was honored to pay salutations to the Prophet (peace be upon him,” according to Al-Soufi.

Al-Soufi also visited the Place of Islamic importance and famous historical mosques in the holy city of Madinah, such as Uhud and Al-Khandaq battlefields.

Al-Soufi said that the journey for the pilgrimage has cost him 8,000 Canadian dollars, including traveling, accommodation and transportation.

He suggested taxi fare are too high and that this area needs some control by the government.
