JEDDAH: The Kerala Relief Wing (KRW), a service organization of Indian expatriates, has announced that it would deploy more than 400 volunteers to serve pilgrims in Mina and other holy sites this Haj.

KRW volunteers will extend their services under the aegis of the Industrial City Dawa Office (ICDO) in Jeddah.

Fuad Kawther, general manager of ICDO, commended KRW for its humanitarian and relief activities and said they have set up a good example for others to follow by offering their services to the guests of God.

Kawther made this comment while inaugurating a training program for the volunteers at IBM Institute here. He wished KRW volunteers would be able to show an excellent performance during this Haj season like last year.

Volunteer captain CH Basheer said KRW would mobilize 400 volunteers from among Keralite expatriates in various parts of the Kingdom to serve the pilgrims.

“Our volunteers will be available in Makkah, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa from Dul Hijjah 8 to 13 in order to extend various services to pilgrims,” Basheer said. Accommodation for the volunteers has been arranged near Mina.

During the meeting, the captain gave necessary instructions to the volunteers.

The program began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Niamatullah. Safarullah presided over the event, which was attended by Abdul Rahman Fadl and Unneen Moulavi.

Abdul Shukoor Ali and Muhammad Najib gave felicitation speeches while KM Abdul Rahim and Haider provided necessary guidelines to the volunteers to improve their services.
