JEDDAH: The Kingdom is considering supporting an anti-terror center in Chechnya, according to Ramzan Kadyrov, the country’s president.
The news website Russia Today quoted Kadyrov as making these comments after meeting with Ahmed Al-Khatib, Cabinet adviser and chairman of the General Authority for Entertainment.
“The Saudi official said his country was interested in establishing an international counterterrorism training center that could play a significant role in preparing anti-terror specialists to work in the Kingdom and other Arab countries,” Kadyrov was quoted as saying.
“We discussed many issues of interest, mainly Saudi investments in projects in Chechnya. The guest has considered the proposals of the Chechen government and described them as interesting,” said Kadyrov.
He said the Kingdom plan to invest in a ski resort and a skyscraper in Grozny. A joint action force was formed to mediate between the Chechen government and Saudi investors. He also said that the Kingdom was planning investments worth $10 billion in Russia.
