JEDDAH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman as well as the crown prince and deputy crown prince have commended the efforts made by Saudi media organizations in highlighting the Saudi-led Operation Decisive Storm and Operation Restoring Hope and the government’s efforts to combat terrorism, said Culture and Information Minister Adel Al-Toraifi on Monday.

“The Saudi press has been giving comprehensive coverage for news and events, especially the operations for Decisive Storm and Restoring Hope, highlighting the efforts being made to protect the nation and combat terrorism and exposing deviant groups,” the minister said while receiving editors in chief of Saudi newspapers, including Mohammed Fahad Al-Harthi of Arab News.

“I would like to convey the thanks and appreciation of King Salman, the crown prince and deputy crown prince for your efforts,” Al-Toraifi told the editors. Al-Toraifi discussed with the chief editors matters related to improving journalistic work in the Kingdom and invited opinions and proposals for the purpose without deviating from the Kingdom’s fundamental principles and media policy.

The minister emphasized the media’s role in tackling social issues and strengthening unity and cohesion among the Saudi people. “We have to stand united in confronting those who try to tarnish the Kingdom’s image and undermine its security,” he told the editors.
