JEDDAH: The Malaysian Consulate in Jeddah organized a bazar with traditional food, clothing, toys and much more showcasing the country’s culture at its premises recently.

Malaysian Consul General Mohammed Ali Selamat told Arab News that “Malaysian Bazar” is organized by the consulate every three months to give an opportunity to the community to mingle, spend time together and enjoy a home away from home.

He said traditional dishes like satay, laksas, nasi goring, chicken curry, popiah, and all traditional pastry were on offer at the event.

There were 28 stalls to serve the visitors with traditional food, sweets and traditional clothes.

Sulaman Yahya, one of the visitors, said that such type of bazar allows him to meet friends and spend some good time with them.

He said it’s a great effort by the consulate to bring in Jeddah, through this event, a number of Saudis who love to visit Malaysia and taste its food.

Ameen Fatani, another visitor, said that in the Kingdom, the bazar is a showcase of Malaysian culture and food.
