JEDDAH: A man has died after a projectile landed in Jazan province in southern Saudi Arabia early on Friday.
The projectile fired from Yemen struck the settlement of Tuwal in Jazan province killing the man and injuring a child and her father.
All victims were Yemeni nationals living in the Kingdom.
Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, who seized control of parts of Yemen from the internationally recognized government, have regularly been targeting civilian on Saudi territory. Saudi Arabia leads a regional coalition to restore the legitimate government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
The village of Tuwal is located some two kilometers from the Saudi-Yemeni border.
