JEDDAH: Security authorities in Turaif in the Northern Border Province have arrested a young man in his 20s for killing his parents and wounding his siblings at their house on Wednesday.

The arrested man reportedly used a sharp object to kill his parents and wound others, and later fled the house.

Earlier, Turaif police received a report informing them that a citizen, in his early 70s, and wife, in her 50s, were attacked with a sharp object which resulted in their death.

Additionally, their son,15, and daughter, 25, were wounded in the same attack and admitted to Turaif General Hospital, spokesman for Northern Border police Col. Awaid Mahdi Al-Inizi said.

Upon receiving the report, security officers went to the family’s house, where preliminary investigation showed that the man behind the crime was the 23-year-old son who fled the scene, he said.

All necessary measures were taken to arrest the accused fugitive through the deployment of fixed and mobile patrols which managed to arrest him while he was trying to cross one of the checkpoints, the spokesman reported.
