JEDDAH: Batterjee Medical College for Science and Technology (BMC) has opened for registration for the upcoming academic year.

Hassan Shaibah, BMC’s dean, said the college offers degrees in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, nursing, health administration and radiology for Saudis and residents. There is financial assistance through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Internal Scholarship Program and other national institutions.

“BMC’s goal is to provide high quality education with its sophisticated buildings and facilities including lecture halls, smart classrooms, and medical laboratories that are equipped with the latest equipment.”

Sobhi Batterjee, chairman of the board of trustees, said the BMC has achieved a great deal in a short time. It received the Excellence Award as the best education project in the Middle East and North Africa in 2010, he said.

It is listed in the Avicenna Directory, the World Health Organization Global Directory of Medical Schools, and with the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research. It recently received ISO 9001 Certification from the JAS-ANZ Association and the Okaz Award for Professional Excellence.

“The BMC has taken serious steps in providing integrated education programs similar to those offered by international medical universities through the continuous development of curricula, programs and the partnerships with local and international universities. It most recently partnered with Maastricht University in the Netherlands to develop its medical and other programs.”
