RIYADH: The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) plans to extend fingerprinting for all telecommunication subscribers for a further two weeks, according to sources quoted by a local publication on Wednesday. This is because of the large numbers of people who still need to be fingerprinted by telecom companies, the report said. The period would now end on April 28, instead of April 14, the source said. The fingerprinting campaign is aimed at cracking down on those using the system to harm the country’s security. It started on Jan. 20.
