The Ministry of Health needs more funds to boost its media and public awareness programs, it was proposed at the First International Forum for Public Relations in Madinah on Thursday. This was one of the recommendations of delegates at the end of the three-day forum. More than 200 experts from the Kingdom and abroad participated in the gathering. The forum delegates praised Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman for supporting the event.

The delegates proposed that there should also be further training provided for media workers at all public sector clinics and hospitals in the country. The recommendations include the ministry working with universities and research centers to develop public awareness campaigns.

The delegates also proposed that health communication workers use new media to carry health messages to the public. There should also be a focus on developing the ministry’s current health sites and starting new ones.

They called for the establishment of a national health awareness information bank to serve the public and private sectors.
