RIYADH: Some 60 percent of the thermal insulation products do not conform to the set Saudi technical standards, according to the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organisation (SASO).

Recently, some 194 samples of insulation products were subjected to exhaustive tests at SASO’s labs, of which 109 samples, or 60 percent, showed incompatibility with the set standards, while another 12 samples are still being tested, the statement said.

The majority of the tested samples were obtained by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry through its regular investigative trips to local factories.
