DAMMAM: Nimr Sehaj Zaid Al-Kraizi, one of the 47 prisoners executed Saturday, was convicted of terrorism charges .

Al-Kraizi was convicted of participation in the attack on Alkhobar oil complex which killed 22 people, among them a British citizen whose body was dragged by Al-Kraizi through the streets. Al-Kraizi was the commander of the terrorist cell that attempted to target three foreign embassies in Riyadh. Wearing an explosive belt, he was arrested after a shoot-out with police.

Khalid, a security officer, narrated the story of his arrest. "I was part of the security patrol that surrounded the complex in which the terrorists hid. In the darkness of the night, helicopters began to land on the roofs of neighboring buildings and on the complex itself. Snipers were deployed, but the four terrorists escaped through the rear window of the complex using drainpipes."

They headed to a nearby bank, where they stole a car, Khalid said, confirming that once security authorities received a communication about the incident, the forces were able to track down the car, where Al-Kraizi was sitting in the rear seat with a weapon to secure the other terrorists.

The policeman said that the suspects' car broke down, so they were forced to leave it. During the shootout with police, Al-Kraizi was shot in the leg, and the three other terrorists abandoned him, stole another car and fled.

At that moment, Al-Kraizi demanded to be taken to a hospital for treatment. Later, an explosives squad came to the site to disarm the explosives belt, and the terrorist was transferred to the King Fahd Medical Complex in Dhahran.
