JEDDAH: A Twitter squabble which erupted between Undersecretary at the Social Affairs Ministry Naif Al-Subaihi and Shoura member Muwafiq Al-Ruwaili has recently taken upward momentum and might lead to litigation between the two sides on charges of defamation and false accusations.

In a statement to local media, Al-Subaihi said he has appointed a lawyer to file a case against Al-Ruwaili.

Al-Ruwaili tweeted on his personal account criticizing Al-Subaihi for encouraging and commending distance learning, and for his participation in introducing remote courses via online academies that graduate unqualified students which have resulted in flooding the Kingdom with certificates of distance learning.

Al-Subaihi did not respond to the criticism but he blocked the tweets of Al-Ruwaili who was not satisfied with the result and addressed the Minister of the Social Affairs in a tweet saying: "Your undersecretary will sink the country with certificates of distance learning, God help our families."
