JEDDAH: A total of 45,463 African pilgrims have so far left the Kingdom for their home countries after performing Haj.

The Motawwifi Organization of Pilgrims from Non-Arab African countries began the transportation of the pilgrims, 36,892 of whom left Makkah for Jeddah and 8,571 for Madinah.

This amounts to 27 percent of the total number of African pilgrims, which was 166,924 this year, local media reported.

Bandar Khayat of the organization was quoted as saying that there have been no complaints about poor service from pilgrims or field service groups.

He said that the electronic Tafweej program, set up by the Ministry of Haj, is one of the most prominent successes during this year’s Haj.
