RIYADH: The Philippine Embassy has facilitated more than 50,000 applications for overseas absentee voting (OAV) and certifications in a one-year registration period.

“We thank all Filipinos in the Kingdom for their enthusiasm in registering as overseas voters. We also appeal to those who have not registered to do it before the deadline,” said Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago.

The OAV registration started on May 4 last year and will end on Oct. 31.

The embassy has facilitated 53,617 applications for OAV registration and certifications as of May 17, 2015 and all other overseas voting-related services for the same period has reached 55,483.

The embassy, which crossed the 50,000-mark in one year, has consistently been on top of all other Philippine embassies and consulates across the world in terms of OAV services facilitated.

Registering as overseas absentee voter will allow qualified Filipinos to vote from Sunday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and during outreach missions through the Embassy on Wheels (EOW).
