A committee has been formed with members from the Civil Defense, Taif municipality and a number of other government agencies to begin assessing the damage caused in the city by the recent heavy rains.

"The number of cases of damage resulting from these rains has reached 44 and include damage to cars, shops and houses. The committee will continue to monitor all of these cases to ensure that the persons involved are helped out," said Civil Defense Department spokesman Nasser bin Sultan Al-Sharif.
