AL-AHSA: The Al-Ahsa Mayoralty has opened its entertainment arboretum on the international Gulf road as a recreational facility for pilgrims, Mayor Adel Al-Mulhim has said.

“The entertainment arboretum provides sites for pilgrims wishing to take rest before or after proceeding to the holy sites, along with all needed services and assistance, meals, dates, juices, gifts and geographical maps.”

The arboretum includes a medical clinic and a pavilion allocated for the Ministry of Culture and Information to distribute awareness leaflets and books about Haj rituals, the mayor said.

The competent authority in the mayoralty, Ministry of Haj and several other government agencies began their work there, which are planned to be continued throughout the days of Haj season, he said.

Al-Mulhim said that all the arboretum’s attendants have attended training courses in several areas related to work and deal with pilgrims, including a course in civil defense and first aid, as well as the art of dealing with others.

The arboretum is located on a 50,000 square meter area, containing two large halls, green areas and seedlings of ornamental trees and roses.
