RIYADH: Preacher Atiyya Al-Sulami, 90, undertook a four-day trip recently to the southern borders to visit the Saudi troops who are defending the Kingdom.

“Al-Sulami set a good example for others who are similarly situated as he traveled to express his appreciation for the selfless service of the troops in protecting the Kingdom and ensure that Saudi citizens are safe,” an online report said.

The report quoted Al-Sulami as saying that “with their security assured, Saudi nationals and residents of the Kingdom could go about their tasks at home or at work with peace of mind.”

With his advanced age, the preacher has done a commendable job. Despite the ordeals of traveling, he gave inspiration to the Saudi troops, the report said.

Al-Sulami’s visit was also a show of support for the efforts of the Saudi leadership under Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
