JEDDAH: One of three girls who escaped from a shelter in Jeddah has been found and the case is being investigated by the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution. Efforts are continuing to find the other two girls.

Sources reveal that the girl was referred to the Girl’s Social Care Institution in Makkah based on a memorandum from the ethics department. She will be returned to the shelter on completion of formalities by the investigation bureau.

Abdullah Al-Tawi, director general of social affairs and spokesman for the ministry, is coordinating the transfer of the girl back to the shelter house in Jeddah.

The new administration at the shelter house has put in place a comprehensive plan to check the growing incidence of girls escaping from the shelter and take measures to prevent such happenings.

He said a social affairs committee has questioned a number of employees at the guest house to prepare a detailed report on the situation.
