Alfaisal University and the Basil M. Ghalayini (BMG) Foundation recently signed a memorandum of understanding for the university to be their academic partner in the Middle East and to execute the Safe Driving, Lifesaving 2013-2015 campaign in the Kingdom and Gulf region.
“This is not the first collaborative effort between Alfaisal and BMG. We worked together in 2012 on the ‘Our Water, Our Life’ campaign, which was one of a kind and attended by many Saudi youth,” said Khaled Al-Kattan, dean of the College of Medicine at Alfaisal University.
Basil Ghalayini, CEO of BMG, said: “It is an honor to work with such an elite educational institution that holds the name of the late King Faisal, who has a highly respected image in the Kingdom.
“I would like to thank all university entities for supporting this initiative and encouraging their students toward a safe driving, lifesaving campaign.”
The three-year agreement aims for the organizations to work together to promote a road safety driving campaign and save lives and property in Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
The road safety campaign mainly targets drivers, authorities, corporations and employers, and hopes to raise awareness about road safety driving and changing driving habits and to serve as a lobby for improved road safety, infrastructure upgrade and the application of advanced technology toward improvements in traffic safety.
