RIYADH: A team of 30 Saudi doctors, led by Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeh, has successfully conducted an operation to separate a Yemeni Siamese twins at the King Abdullah Pediatric Specialty Hospital in King Abdulaziz medical city recently.

The 10-hour surgery was done in three stages, the first starting with anesthetizing the twins that itself took two hours. Among the other stages were separating the intestines, liver and the urinary tract, followed by separating of the bones and stitching and bandaging. The twins were then taken to the ICU of the hospital.

The father of the twins extended his gratitude and thanks to the king and the medical team involved in the challenging operation.

Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, National Guard minister, extended his congratulations to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on the success of the surgery.

He also commended the team of doctors.
