DAMMAM: A Saudi scholarship student has invented an electronic system to regulate traffic congestion and contribute to saving people’s lives. The system also cuts maintenance costs for tunnels, trains, subway stations and crowded facilities.
The inventor, Hamad bin Saud Al-Theyabi, was enrolled in a Ph.D. course in computer engineering at the University of Bridgeport in the US state of Connecticut.
The Saudi cultural attaché in the United States, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Essa, said: “Saudi Vision 2030 has encouraged students on scholarship to provide distinctive achievements and technologies that serve the Kingdom’s knowledge-based economy.” He called on all scholarship students to strive for achievements that contribute to the elevation and prosperity of the homeland.
Al-Essa said that there was coordination between the embassy and the inventor to register the product in the Kingdom via the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. He confirmed that the embassy provided all facilities and legal advice needed by the inventor.
