JEDDAH: A man has been arrested in connection with two terror attacks and the kidnapping of a citizen in Al-Qatif late last year, the Interior Ministry announced.
Mofeed bin Ahmad Hassan Al-Omrah was arrested in Al-Qadeeh town for his alleged involvement in firing on a security patrol in Saihar, Al-Qatif, resulting in the death of a security officer.
He was also allegedly involved in a separate incident, which saw shots fired at a patrol in Al-Khuwailid, also in Al-Qatif, which resulted in the injury of an assistant traffic patrol commander and two Indian passersby.
A spokesman for the ministry said that there was “substantial proof” he was involved in these two attacks, and a third incident involving the kidnapping and beating of a citizen in Taroot, also in Al-Qatif.
A machine gun, revolver, two face masks, several gloves, hashish and 15 tablets of amphetamine pills were found in his possession, the spokesman said.
