An Arabic TV program will help the 1.5 million unmarried Saudi youth in the Kingdom find their significant other, according to Mohsin Shaikh Al-Hassan, a book author and radio and TV host.

“This program, dubbed ‘Tazweej’ (Arabic for marriage), airs on the Sella family channel and will help Saudis find their soul mates from among viewers,” said Al-Hassan, the program host.

“We send them information on men or women they may be interested in,” he said.

He noted that there are 483,000 unmarried girls in Makkah, 425,000 in Riyadh and 319,000 in the Eastern Province.

The program will air from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Thursday starting next week.

Last year, the program helped 400 orphans and disabled people find their life partners.

“The program made significant progress after only a year of helping a limited segment, which is why it expanded to include all Saudi celibates regardless of their situation.”

Al-Hassan said the program is cooperating “with 45 institutions to help match eligible bachelors and bachelorettes.”

“Affluent donators, whether Saudi or expat, will also be urged to help out financially. These generous philanthropists will help grooms pay the dowry and hold a feast or buy food, gold, clothes and furniture,” he said.

He said that the program will also entertain questions on marriage from viewers.

“We will send these proposals to the Saudi women who are sought,” Said Al-Hassan, who is also a media and PR consultant.

He added that the program will also help marry off Saudi men to second or third wives.
