RIYADH: The Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Guests for Umrah program concluded its cultural activities for the sixth group, according to a report.
The sixth group included more than 250 Islamic figures from eight Arab-African countries as well as 10 blind individuals from Egypt and Sudan.
Fawaz bin Ali Al-Khulaifi, head of the program’s cultural committee, said that events for the visitors are coordinated.
“We are also working to meet the needs of the guests for quality programs that meet the desired objectives. These programs include scientific competitions, cultural forums, lectures and seminars,” he said.
Al-Khulaifi added that these are in addition to the interactive sessions and entertainment activities lined up for them.
Al-Khulaifi noted that the cultural committee “was keen to distribute gifts given to participants of the programs.”
“These are varied. They include scientific libraries and copies of the Qur’an, electronic devices as well as gifts from the popular traditions of the Kingdom,” he said.
There are also special gifts which the blind need during their stay in the Kingdom.
“These are special gifts which are intended to stay in the guests’ memory long after they have left the Kingdom as guests of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman,” he said.
He thanked Secretary General Abdullah bin Mudlij Al-Medlej “who follows the work of the committee from the start of the program to its conclusion.”
Al-Khulaifi said Al-Medlej also provided all the facilities for the program to achieve the desired goals for the benefit of the guests.
He expressed thanks to the working committee as well as to his colleagues who made great efforts for the success of the program.
