JEDDAH: The Ministry of Labor recently spotted violations regarding advertisements published in various types of media outlets by unauthorized individuals and parties to sell, lease or give up the services of domestic workers.

The violations will be reported to the judicial authorities in the Ministry of Information and Culture for appropriate penalties against the violators, local media reported on Monday.

The ministry urged all media outlets to abide by the regulations and comply with the Royal decrees banning the announcement to sell visas and services of foreign labor, or lease or give up their services.

Only authorized bodies in the recruitment firms and offices are authorized to publish such ads, on the condition that the name of the establishment is clear and the number of the work permit and necessary contact information are included.

The ministry also warned that some local and electronic newspapers publish ads for those claiming to be in the recruitment sector without acquiring the necessary licenses. This is a stark violation of the laws and regulations and amounts to cheating citizens and taking advantage of their needs for domestic labor, it said.

Such a violation is also contradictory with the Islamic values and human principles of Saudi society, it added.
